Innokin is definitely one of the pioneers of the e-cigarette industry and their products have revolutionized the way we vape. They even have ‘innovation’ as part of their name and today I’m happy to feature on the website one of their newest products, s compact box mod that has taken the whole built-in battery concept to the very next level. As you probably are aware, on many devices the internal battery dies out after 2-3 years of usage and you cannot replace it. This is where Innokin decided to step in and change the way box mods are powered.
The Innokin Disrupter Box Mod is an example of ingenuity and advanced engineering, it being one of the first devices that works with an interchangeable battery, meaning it’s never going to become obsolete. Instead of using an internal battery, this mod uses an external one that attaches to the rest of the mod via two pins and a magnetic connection and offers a few extraordinary benefits. You can buy the battery (or the batteries) separately and you can pick any color you want. You can charge it while it’s not connected to the device but you can also use it in pass-through mode. You can even leave one to charge while you swap it with a full one in a few seconds.
The Innokin Disrupter Box Mod comes packed in a grey cardboard box and inside you are going to find the mod itself and a very complex and accurate user’s manual. My personal recommendation is to read the manual thoroughly before vaping on the device. The battery and micro-USB cable are packed individually and I still don’t know if this is going to come in a kit version or you have to buy each piece separately. The mod has a great metallic finish and a lovely rectangular shape. It’s very well balanced and the build quality is top notch. The battery connects to the back end of the mod and it comes in seven choices of color. This means that you are only going to get the mod in a single color if you choose both the device and battery in black. Everything else is going to be in two colors but trust me, the combinations look great and they are very appealing to the eye.
The Innocell battery is a great alternative to standard 18650 units and it comes with a capacity of 2000mAh. The continuous discharge rate is 20A and each battery comes with its own micro-USB charging port and notification LED light. These batteries have a unique ‘Slide n’ Lock’ system which allows them to be swappable and at the same time to stay connected to the mod without any concern they might fall off.
The Innokin Disrupter Box Mod is a variable wattage device that goes from 6W to 50W and is capable of working with tanks/atomizers with a minimum resistance of 0.2 Ohms. A great and cheap alternative for the mod would be Innokin’s own iSub tank that offers sub-ohming capabilities at a very attractive price. It can also come in the color that matches the mod or the battery. It comes with a spring loaded, stainless steel threaded 510 connection and features a very generous OLED display. It’s very easy to operate and in terms of performance it delivers clouds as expected, especially with a sub-ohm tank or an RDA.
